very good quality tool, made in german

The Pensander costs abt 75 SGD and transformer is abt 65 SGD.

It comes with 8 heads and 3 sheets of sand paper in 180, 240 and 400 grade.they are too low for plastic molding.

It is the tool set.
It does not get hot after 30minutes run
Easy to handle as small size
Con:
Noisy. Can not use it in the night… (You know why, rite )

Ello guys, I just finished this hguc Geara Zulu, I got lazy and decided not to put decals anymore. This is basically a warm up build for the AC White Glint, to get accustomed to smaller parts after the PG Zeta build. I did not only get comfortable with the small parts I also got to practice detail painting the koto parts on the kit...honestly, this is my first time that I actually enjoyed working on such a small kit.

The base is temporary though, I plan to pair this with my hguc Kshatriya eventually and maybe also my hguc Unicorn. Anyways I had fun building this and I might do more hgucs more often. I'll be working on the AC White Glint starting tomorrow, so no Gundams for me for a while...but I will be back for more Gunpla, maybe create a super detailed one once I finished the AC coz I figured that I have not created a super modded kit and it is already March. now, here are some pics of this no fuzz warm up build...
Here are more pics - http://dc23-mecharts.blogspot.com/2010/0...-dc23.html

My third armour in the pipeline. This piece was given to me by my best friend who knows I just love the stuarts. Having started on armour for so long, non was completed yet due to lack of courage in my hand painting. Nevetheless, with more kits coming out, I would be forced to use my hand brushes, wouldn't it?

Here is the box art of the piece.

It is an old academy kit with tons of flashes and misfits. Fortunately, all those can be easily dealt with with a hobby knife and a file, and of course lots of patience. (And a cut finger ouch!)

From the start, I have consulted Bernard on what colour to use and he suggested Mr. Color Nos. 23: Dark Green.

I heed his expert advise and went on to mix it into this ratio to form the base coat color:

Nos. 23: Dark Green = 60%
Nos. 1 : Gloss White = 30%
Nos. 136: Russian Green 2 = 10%

I used white to ligthened up the brownish green and added a little russian green to make the brownish green a little more to the green side.

Here is what it is after I have applied the base coat, did a little highlighting on the middle and raised areas, plus some post shading with smoked gray. Also applied 2 coats of gloss.

An "everything" view

I used masking to paint the tools... I always avoid hand painting as much as possible.

The turret and the AA MG. I used Mr. Color Steel to paint the MG. Still needs to dry brush with enamel silver.

Another view of the whole tank. See the wheels? It is done by masking ha!

A note: I skipped the 2 side fuel tanks because the kit did not provide any chains that are supposed to be there to hold them. Putting them there will make it looked funny because the tanks would then be like "floating"... Also, I decided to skipped the 2 sponson MG on its sides. They just looked plain silly. (what is the use of it where it cannot be traversed and cannot be aimed?)

Here is what I planned to do for the tank body:

1. apply a pin wash using oil, burnt umber
2. apply decals
3. flat coat
4. do dot filters using oil: ochre, burnt umber and blue
5. apply 2 filters: acrylic flat brown XF-10 then buff XF-57
6. apply light scratches using oil: burnt umber mainly
7. add pigments to all.
8. final flat coat??

For the tracks:

1. apply wash using acrylic XF-1 flat black + XF-10 flat brown.
2. apply gray on the inside of the tracks to simulate wear because of wheels friction
3. dry brush with silver
4. assemble into body using super glue instead of heating screw driver??
5. as per step 7 above, pigments goes in together.

Any suggestions on the steps correction would be good. Thanks!

Thanks!

Zesting up Ankle Armor With Beads! Easy Tutorial

Another quick-e how-to. This time its adding small beads to make little details on ankle armor pop... His same process can also be used and done to upgrade head vulcan guns and even insert minus molds and koto option parts into a kit...

Tools/Supplies Needed.
- X-Acto Knife
- Small Drill Bit Set
- Small Adjustable Knife/Bit Holder
- Small Beads

--------------------------------------------------------------------

1.First Draw out and mark where you want to details to be. Careful planning! In this case and with most UC gundams there are small markings on the ankle armor which will be are target. In this demonstration you can see the marks already there. These will be helpful when we start drilling our hole so the bit doesn't "Walk" around and create some deformed crater in our kit. If you have no mark you can just poke a spot you like with your scribe. Then stick the tip of your X-acto knife in the center of your hole and give it a couple spins. This will create a guide hole for you to begin drilling.

Remember select the bead and the drill bit carefully you need the bead to fit the hole EXACTLY. Start with a small bit and work up if your not sure which bit is the right size. In this case I'm using a 1.mm bit and a 1.mm bead. I choose to do this with a hand drill so I can have greater control over the size/depth and angle of the hole. Careful not to drill to deep or your bead might be burried in the hole for good...

2. Here is a picture after drilling the hole. I periodicly stop and check the depth. In this case I'm about 3/4 the beads depth so it will only stick out 1/4 of its height...

3. Grab the bead and prepare to insert... After checking the depth and doing your test fit your ready for the final insertion... I find it is easy to pick up the bead on my needle scribe tool and give it a little super glue on the end. I then place the scribe into the hole with the bead on it then, I pull out the scribe using my fingernail to hold the bead from coming out as well.

4. The beads in but, it may be a little tough for it to sit properly. So move it in or out a hair or if your hole is to big (which it shouldn't be) it may wobble. In this case the hole wasn't made deep enough. So using the end of my x-acto knife (not the blade but the flat end of the handle) I carefully press it in till the height looks good to me.

5. Repeat till your happy and enjoy.

Today, I'm going to show you how to create RECESSED DETAILS without having to carve into your kit. This is an easy way to add details that can also be easily removed if you don't like them later on in the many months of your all's builds...

4. Remove the tracing paper and attach it to your pla-plate / plastic sheet. The thickness of the plastic sheet will vary depending on how far you want the edges/details recessed. In this case a shallow detail, I used 0.02 sheet. Next apply 1 small drop of super glue in the middle and tape the edges. The super glue is for after you get the outside edges cut... so it doesn't fall off.

5. Using your X-Acto knife, cut out your design. You may want to sand the edges and try to get it sharp looking as possible... (I didn't as I have more other detailing to do...)

6. Lightly sand the surface of the area on the part where the plastic sheet will be covering. This will remove your old pen marks and give the surface a tooth for the glue to bond to better.

7. Coat your surface with super-glue remember all the way to the edge so later on the corners don't try to lift.

8. Carefully apply the your pla-plate to the surface of the part.

9. Any final cutting or trimming to get the part closer to the edge is now preformed. (Also that little drop os superglue used to attach to paper to the pla-plate can be easily sanded off now.)

10. In this step you will take your putty and lightly coat the edges and any are you accidently cut and then sand it smooth to blend it into your exsisting part. (I didn't as I'm still have more work to do.) And admire!
