Hi all me going to HK next month, after researching on the shop locations from the various forums and hk magazines, I 've gotten some shops addresses and opening times...

Question I have now is:
Is it more worth to get kits from e2046 or hobbyfan rather than I go and buy from the shops? Trying to save money..
Also is it more worth to instead of getting kits from HK, get the tools instead?

Eh, which shops are cheaper ah? Anyone has experience?
Me got scolded in HK last time for going into a shop, look and look and no buy...

Currently me very interested in the G-System Geara Doga... but the price is Blood0ni

Somemore never done resin before...Em56

Thanks in advance for your advice!
Yo Cyberwill, as someone who goes HK quite a fair bit, I can safely tell you this.

Forget the resin kits, you need at least 1 week to pre-order before it's ready unless you can get someone to pre-order 1st then pay when you collect and when you're there. Of course there are some that are already stock on hand, usually slightly older stuff. I got my 1/100 Guncannon Mass production from Hung Fatt at Wanchai MTR (exit from Exit A3, cross road and take tram from Wanchai MTR, 2 stops later alight and cross road). Hung Fatt is at Mallory Street, side entrance of Emperor Group Centre.

G-system shop is at Kwong Wa St, and doesn't open till 6pm latest.

If you stay at HK Island side (meaning Causeway Bay, Central etc) then Hung Fatt is your best choice since they open till 9pm. Wai Le at Wan Chai is also not too bad but not that cheap if you think about it. Consider Wanchai 188, a mall which has alot of games, anime and of course resin G-kit recasts.

If staying at Kowloon side (TST area) then consider Fa Yuen Gai at Prince Edward/Mongkok MTR as that has probably the greatest concentration of hobby shops (Twinner, Yin Ming at Sai Yee Street & UML at Nathan Road assuming you want more than Gundams). Along Kwong Wa Street, there're 3 other hobby shops, Wai Le Mongkok branch, Firebird Models and Sunny Models. Firebird and Sunny are at the tail end of Kwong Wa Street and kindda diagonally opposite each other.

I dunno ley, so far never got scolded for looking and not buying. Lol

Edit - Oh yes, along Nathan Road, there's Sino Centre (Nathan Road is FOOKING LONG) where there is a basement shop called Magic Box which sells recasts, but they aren't as cheap as 111 Centre at Aberdeen Road.

Another add on- Going next month? "Enjoy" the summer. HAHAHAHAHAHA!
Thanks G-Man! Max also tells me to pre-order at least 1 week in advance...Me deliberately book hotel at Mongkok!

HK is also shopping paradise for women!

Happy is me man!
eday, thanks, I will try to keep in touch with you.. so nice of you!!
Actually if you hang around Mong Kok for models it will be quite sufficient. Kwang Wa street is the place that you must not miss.

For your reference

At CTMA (green dot 13), there are quite a few good gundam shops at the basement levels. There's a Toymart on the upper levels too.

Along Dunda street before Kwang Wa street there's a market selling flowers at the first level. Go right up to the 3rd level and go all the way in a find a small corner shop selling gundam. Its price is the most competitive around.

On top of that, there's a shop on the 3rd level of sino center that offers good pricing as well, but he opens his shop late or seldom open at all.

Enjoy your tripEm58
Max... you can do the same too.. just show her the hong kong brochures and she will think its all her idea!
