i've got a question for all the pros here..after seeing the pieces from seed compy..im kind of thinking y i bought airbrush if not for getting serious

the colour can come out properly im satisfied alr

thats y my airbrushing is crappy as u can see on my NG1/100 akatsuki..so here's some q
1.how does the pressure (psi) affect the outcome of the model then when to use high pressure n low.. at the same time, around how far to spray from the model itself when varying the pressure
so far 1 q first..

maybe there should be a thread here in plamo focusing on the a-z of airbrushing so every1 could benefit

Hmm.. to me, this is a tough question to answer.. as it comes with experience to get the hang of Airbrushing and how to control your AB.
Air Pressure for AB
Usually I spray at 20psi at about 10cm away from the model.
By varying the distance of the AB, you will get different 'footprint' of the paint onto the area.
(visuallise a cone coming out of your AB nozzle for area of paint)
If I want to do a wet coat for cars or gloss.. I lower the psi to 15 and spray closer to the surface so that the paint would not dry too fast upon reaching the surface to cause 'roughness'.
(Because the paint particle dries partially in end before landing on the surface)
Fichten Foo have a very good article with FLASH on airbrushing
Airbrushing Basic
Max is right. I think pressure will affect the gloss/matt effect of the paint. Usually gloss I'll go for low pressure and nearer distance. If I want matt then I go high pressure far distance. I can get a matt finish with gloss paints with this.
hmm...thx max for the usefull web..saw that before

true enough the gloss coat wont look so glossy with high psi
when i first bought my airbrush from HAG last yr..it came as a set (HM800AC (the green autoshutoff one)+basic dual action airbrush set +airbrush holder).....eh y they didn gimme the recoil hose ahh
aniway fella only taught me how to take out the needle..therefore im in great desperation of wanting to find out
1. how to change nozzle size..so can vary spraying width
2. how to disassemble n put it back in one piece so can troubleshoot
3. oh does psi affect anithing when u play around with spraying width??

1 & 2: U got the manual for your AB? If not, best is to bring down to the shop and ask.
3: Width of spray does not entirely depends on PSI.
Distance from the AB to the surface determines the spray width.
Howevere, higher psi does produce a sharper edge then lower psi if both are maintain at the same distance from the surface.
I got my first airbrush and compressor from HAG too, and they thought me how to disassemble and assemble it, by rights, they should teach you too, unless you told them you already knew how to.
As far as I know, I don't think theres a manual for the airbrush, so you better bring the airbrush down to let them teach you, and check for any problems at the same time.
kiraaa! nottt faiirrrrr

haha i did tell them i know how to use airjug..those for sprayin car
..just the bigger version of airbrush
aniway thx for the tips guys ill go bring my ab there soon

haha take your time quikred, to be able to use a airbrush efficiently, it takes time and experience is slowly accumulated

PSI ~ 15 + paint mixture 60% thinner, 40% paint sprayed about 8~10 cm = gloss finish. (try release more paint)
PSI ~ 25 + paint mixture 50% thinner, 50% paint sprayed about 10~15 cm = matt finish. (try control flow of paint not too much.
Hope I'm right. Taught by achtung.

so detailed ahhh seiya!! thx alot
i think i have to learn proper airbrushing from a proper source instead of selflearning
