I think we have met a few in our life during shopping trips, where the employees at the shops bullshit something or talk about rumour and presumed it to be true. Met them before?

I have a few, one is during a model shopping trip somewhere in the central, and then this employee sees my friend looking around the kit and then started chatting with him(We were holding bags of kits, from Nakamoto) and they started chatting.

Then from the chatting, I catch a few words, or setences that caught my attention, he was saying that the MG Hyaku Shiki(Ballute pack) will most probably be taken off the shelves because Ver 2 is coming out next month. Now if you know, that is bullshit.I was about to ask him of his source when they moved on to tools and etc, where he started saying that only Tamiya and other famous brand tools are good for the kits, the others at hardware store will damage your kit.

If you asked me, I was already having this Cold0wj face at him, and he continued on trying to teach my friend here a little few about sanding methods

"Ohhh!!! You use sandpaper to sand lah! Then this sandpaper ah! Must get 2000grit one, cos it will smooth out your workpiece and all."

Really wtf. I couldnt stand it anymore, and corrected him, but he remains on his position that his method is right, so I got nothing to say, and then later told my friend whether he wants to believe his words or the website I gave him words, its his own problem.

Another shopping trip, this time in a gameshop, this guy here is just plain..... I don't know what to say at all. He was telling me that only US-NTSC games are the legit versions, and those Japanese and Pal versions are copies of the game. So when I asked him about how games were released in Japan first, he goes

"Oh, thats because those Japan people liscened the USA version first, so they released it first."

After that coversation, I made a decission never to step into the shop again, even though it got the supply of friendly games I wanted.
Common when the buyer is more experience that the store owner LolLol
I encounter before.. somewhere at central but further south near to the sea.
Overheard:
Store Owner: Oh, you beginner.. then it is better to buy this 1/60 Strike Freedom Gundam. The pieces are bigger, so easier to handle...

Me was like.......... Cold0wj wa.. kotok pple also dont like that mah........

Might as well tell the beginner to buy the PG gundams Lol, easier to do, since PG means pre school grade . Lol Lol
Pre-school grade at that price???

Wahahahaha....Kotok till more like a carrot head of a size of a football field...
I believe that SG so small, shops that chop customers will tend not to get repeat business and some more name will very fast become smelly.
But, there's not much that can be done about assistants who either anyhow geh kiang, or purposely give wrong info to sell products. This is true for all types of stores - so it really is one's own responsibility to do some homework first, or at least not be too trusting of unrecommended shops. I think your friend at least brought you along as consultant, so up to him whether he want to trust you or some salesperson he's never met before lah.
Normally I will try to correct a sales fella giving obviously wrong info, but since they are generally unreceptive, the next step is to warn my friends about the shop lor.
Reminds me of a hokkien phrase....

Lang Kiang Tio Ho Mia Ke Kiang... In others words..dun be a smart alec..

LolLolLol
Kira:the tuakang kia jus wans ur fren to buy everything fr his shop mah...and the most ex one as well
Haha I am always a mean customer becos I hate these kind of sellers.
So I will always prepare my homework before I buy something especially electronics.
I went IT Show, people commented,"Wah, you sure done your homework !!"
I dun claim I am expert in Apple products. But got one time I was at one of the resellers (there is no apple that are not resellers in sg anyway) getting an ipod for my bro. He sold one which already had the warranty registered, although the box is still in wrapper. I argued, "the label is on the box and u can always re-shrink-wrap". He say,"Sorry we can do a change for you". I told him, "I am quite influential in the local apple user forum. I believe if I comment your service on the forum, you can expect something to happen! Get me your boss and I dun talk to managers!" Guess what, the boss called me and apologized and gave me voucher to shut me up. So buy some accessories for my mac lor.... Em58

i am one KL a**, I know. Lol I just dislike unscrupulous sales people. We bloody work hard for our money, some are even gift from their folks' hard-earned money.

WELL DONE! I like this kindda attitude. I will ALMOST ALWAYS give Apple reps a hard time EXCEPT for 1 shop, where I buy MOST of my mac stuff from these days. The rest can go suck eggs.
