Is voting a 'duty' or a 'privilege' in Singapore?

Voting is secret, voting is compulsory
My first election as a voter but no need to vote

Quote:Voting is secret, voting is compulsory
That phrase is familiar.... I seem to hear it ringing in my ears.... flashback to my childhood days when the tv kept flashing that slogan.
No worries.
No politics is/will be discussed here.

The rules only concerns sites that actively promotes/ criticizes any particular party or action. So as long as we don't go around yelling about NKF or money or corrupt gahmen issues, it is perfectly alright.
Which brings to mind on how kiasee singaporeans generally are. There are some instances when I was talking about the subject on how one-sided, condescending, and flawed XXXXX is, my friends actually hushed me up, as if we're living in some 90's dictatorship.
I mean, you're gonna be living in this country for the next 70 years and you don't care how we're going (or going to be) down the toilet?
Why are there MPs (or sub-MPs? dun understand how their hierachy works here) who are only a bit older than me in walkover areas? Why is my area drafted as part of MXXX PXXX GRC when we've been under alXXXX all along? (We're pretty pro-opp over here, historically speaking) Why the need to redraw constituency lines when we're such a small state? Why call for elections this year along with goodies and then say it's just concidence? If I can't vote in my area, why can't I go over to, say, jurong and vote for the parties there? Why are there no/little full-time MPs, when serving the people is supposed to be a full-time job? Why is my future and means of living going to be decided by people who probably earns 10K+ a month and never saw the inside of a flat before?

Hey, we practise the One Man, One Vote principle here.
L is the Man, and he has the Vote.
EDIT: That is supposed to be a joke.
