thx for the info Smile
My hoots for today. Heh, seriously this bugger can give some serious brain hemorrhage.

Heh, snagged me one of these. Have always wanted one of these babies and when they were going for $100, I didn't bother. That was $100 for a BRAND NEW set, an el cheapo medium format. Now, you'd be lucky if you found a brand new set at anything below $270 and that's in the country of origin, China! Here, the newer model retails for $380 while the $100 models are long out of production.

I present to you, the granddaddy of the Seagull(aka Hai Ou) Twin Lens Reflex Medium Format Camera, the Shanghai Camera Company! This beauty weighs much more than the newer Seagull and has a 75mm focal length, with maximum aperture of f/3.5.

I drytested it a few times and the shutter and apertures seem to work just fine. The only issue is the peeling leatherette and spotty glass viewfinder but that's only to be expected from a camera of this vintage. The case leaves a little to be desired with one end being completely ripped from the main case and held together only by a button down strap on top, which means it opens from the top, not the way it was intended. I have a feeling it's even older than me!

Here it is, with a "robbed" Op-Tech USA strap that I've used for my Nikon F601 since this camera didn't come with a strap. Since I hardly use the 601, and it fits the strap lugs on this, here's my temporary solution, albeit a little odd looking. Even if it did come with a strap, it's probably leather and would cut too much into my nape so....

I'll do a test roll or two tomorrow and if it passes my lacklustre standards, it gets a major cosmetic overhaul. Red leatherette skin anyone? Lol

Total damage for this baby? $150 from a very nice seller. After adding the leatherette... erm let's not go there shall we? I expect it might double my initial outlay. Lol
