Me no audiophile... anything that give me good solid bass + clear vocals can liao..

Comfortable so far, block out MRT and bus chatter so that i can play my psp and watch movies/ animes on my PDA Smile
hey folks,

i got the 'crossroads mylar one bijou' earphones...plus the free headphone amp...which comes in white and black...

by itself, the earphones gives more than decent sound, given the fact that these are "in-ear" earphones which basically gives you better sound reproduction compared to your normal earphone (it's that irritating music that you hear when a teenager or an over-eager would-be audiophile plays their earphones a bit to loud on the bus or train and bothers the hell out of everyone)...for in-ear earphones, that is negated as it blocks outside sound and prevents you from bothering anyone else...a more enjoyable listening experience for everyone...

hook-up the 'fiio' headphone amp and voila!!! great powerful sound!!! base kicks ass, highs and mids are clearer too...

test played it on my itouch ...played pop, jazz, intrumental, acoustic and the last part of battlestar galactica (season-1) where they're escaping the cylon armada...and given each person's preference on music listening, i recommend you tweak your equalizer settings to suit your preferred treble and base levels

is it worth the below S$100 price?...then i say it is, and plus all the accessories that come with it too, airplane jack adapter, extra silicone ear buds in different sizes and a zipper hard case to carry it all...they even include a velcro earphone organizer/wallet...

plus the kicker...which is the 'free' headphone amp...what else do you need???Wink-wink

actually, i bought it for the headphone amp...hahaha...Smiles9wc

and if you're like me who can't work without music or stand the humdrum and staccato sound of public transport, be it bus, train or plane, then this set is definitely a great deal...

only wish the headphone amp came in black...also, think first, as this is an "in-ear" earphone...and some people might be a bit too squeamish about the whole feeling of something plugged-in your ears for a duration of time...there's also that ear-wax problem...then again, i haven't heard of anybody dying because of ear-wax causes...i think...

hey sprigaan,

i got mine in black tooWink-wink...it's the headphone amp that i wished that came in black...
Can't take it back to change? I mean the uncle at the shop comes across to me as quite a reasonable guy so maybe you can ask for a change.

The pair that I am using now wasnt the color I wanted, so he told me I could buy a pair and use them now and then bring them back to change when the new stock arrives at no extra cost.

In the end I didnt change them coz I already grown to like them so much and they are burn-in for my 3G iPod. But I appreciate the gesture so I had no hesitation to intro that shop and the earphones to you guys.
hey folks,

just a supplement about the free fiio headphone amp...

after a quick field test on a 40 minute train ride home...i hooked up the amp to my earphones and itouch...and then i slowly realized why it's free...it's super sensitive to cellular phone signals!!! it got so bad that i had to take it off...Em56

what the hey though...it's still free...they even threw in a free AAA battery for it...

sprigaan, after that field test, the amp will be staying at home...or comes with me on my flights...
Wow! What a detailed review of the Crossroad earphones!! Thanks Wingnut!

That really made me want to get those earphones too, i think I'm gonna go down there and get me one this weekend!

I think the uncle is gonna feel very happy that he is selling so much crossroad mylar earphones, Thanks to Sprigaan for the intro!!
Hey thanks wingnut for the info about the amp.

Kou_uraki87, bring your MP3 player there to test the headphones before you buy! Smile
After weeks of putting up with my spoilt earphones, i've finally got myself a new one. Thanks to Sprigaan, max and wingnut
I went down to Jaben yesterday with my dad and got my self the Mylarone Bijou 2. Truth be told, I'm pretty pleased with the
product. I think that there are some people who would like a review on the earphones, it would also serve as a good reference for people who are considering to buy new headphones in the near future.

Before i start the review on the phones i would like to say that i'm no audiophile and the review is based on purely my opinion of the phones. Hence, views may differ from person to person.

Review of the Mylarone Bijou 2/3
Here goes:

BUndle consisits of:
CrossRoads earphones
5 paris of different sized "sleeves"
Fiio amp
Hard black round casing
Hippo wrap
Airline jack

Firstly, the physical apperance of the phones. There are avaliable colours like black, ruby, gunmetal and pink. The sad/good news is that Jaben only carry Gunmetal and Pink. Honestly, who needs other colours when the Gunmetal looks so damn nice!!
Here's a photo of how "Gunmetal" looks like:

I think it doesn't correspond to the "Gunmetal" colour alot of you had in mind.
For those who are wondering, the cords of the phones are the y-type. The kind that hangs down from your ears instead of the "cooler" design sported by the japanese brands which goes over the neck. There is also a clip attached to the cords which in my opinion is too low to clip onto the collar of the shirt. The clip is supposed to minimize sound being transmitted to the ears when cords are pulled or tugged. (But if you don't like it, just remove it with those tools lying in your modelling tool box!)

Sound Quality

Frankly, when I first walked into the Jaben shop i was a little disappointed. I asked to try out the crossroads earphones, a helper
let me try out the Mylarone Bijou 3 (the one with lesser bass) and i felt that the sound quality was not as i had expected. The Bass was very hollow covered the rest of the sounds produced too. Next i tried the Bijou 2, and i feels that its more suited for my taste.

After trying out for the whole evening and night yesterday, there are some times when the bass fails on comparison to CX300
the highs and mids are clear and nice (with the help of the amp). But, for the price tag the phones have done more than enough.
Furthermore, I read on other forums that Crossroads earphones after bruning in produces music alot better than when it was OOB.

The Fiio "free" amp
In my personal opinion, i feel that this is the sweetest part of the deal. With the amp the earphones are able to produce a much
more clearer crisp sound. The amp also amplifies the signal and hence be prepared to listen at roughly half of the volume you
would normally listen to. Tested the amp on the train today, and there wasn't any of the problem wingnut spoke about maybe cos my phone didn't ring throughout the whole journey.
(EDIT: It happened on the way home, but it wasn't too obvious so i think its ok)

I know that this amp isn't exactly the "high end quality" kind but still it being a first amp for me i think its more than enough.
Plus the amp is tiny and not bulky to carry around, here is a photo of it:

It currently is only avaliable is white, according to the uncle the black stock will come in a few weeks later.

Conclusion:
Overall, its really is damn good deal with all those accesories and given the sound quality of the phones. If you are thinking of getting this after reading this, heed sprigaan's advise:" bring your MP3 player there to test the headphones before you buy! " Note that both the bijou 2 and 3 cos the same price, they are just tuned differntly to suit differnt people. So test them out and decide for yourself!!
Woah! Such a long reply. Thank you very much!! Toungue
