Thank you all for participating in WOOB 03.
Was thinking of raising the bar for all so as to spur everyone to try something different. Ended up we have to extend the dateline and expand the validity of the entries.

Nevertheless, there will be no progress if there are no challenges to overcome. Wink-wink

Many thanks to all who participated and contributed their invaluable WIPsss, I am sure many have benefited from them.

Last but not least. A BIG THANK YOU to the Judges who spent their time going over all the entries and cracking their head on how to judge them.

Judges are:
G-net (Malaysia BAKUC 2006 Champion)
izakku81 (Singapore BAKUC 2006 Champion, ASIA CUP BAKUC CHAMPION)
Pazu (Singapore Gunpla Lao Jiao!)

Comments:

Pazu: It is interesting how we have much lesser entries this year but the bar has been risen much higher. Eday is obviously in another league of his own but the remaining works shows incredible calibre. I think everyone should be really proud of themselves.

RMS-119 EWAC "Eye-Zack" Kai - Wingnut

Pazu:Incredibly well build. Articulated joints are hard and even harder at this scale. The inclusion of a great story is not only interesting to the viewer but almost an excellent motivation to create great works. My only gripe is that the finishing is not very polished and presentation bland.

G-net: finished pictures do no justice to modifications. Weathering looks uneven overall. Finishing a little rough like the panel lines.

izakku81:Very interesting piece, I think the effort put into modifying the kit was amazing, I like the way you gave and old kit a new look by combining with a HGUC kit. I feel your WIP was the best and most interesting , It was detailed and progressive, furthermore it was quite fun to follow up. However i feel that the finishing could be slightly improved and i find the repetion of the feather decal abit jarring. The camera weapon the arm was a very interesting and creative idea.

---------------------------------------------

HGUC Ex-s - STR1KU

Pazu:Ex-S is tired of posing this way. Seriously, signature or not, this “zen” pose has been done to death.

G-net: Seam line on the thighs? Panel lines a little large/thick for the scale. Finishing is rough for 144 where ppl look very close and will catch these.

izakku81:Overall the piece was quite well done. Alot of attention was paid to the small details. The mods done to the shoulder are good, but the details given to it does not blend well. The finishing was good, however I could see the booster's outer rim being slightly smudge by the orange paint. I would recommend doing the booster's color in metallics instead of dark grey as it would give more contrast and enhance the overall look of the backpack.

------------------------------------

Marasai - Red Comet

Pazu:Interesting finishing. Metallics can be a hit or miss. This one is a hit! Good use of after market parts to dress up. Poor posing. Poor posing. Poor posing. We have been saying this since WOOB01.

G-net: Would have preferred no decals as it doesn't suit the metallic base. Nice clean OOB build. Love the shoulder spike! The red seems diff on the shoulder armor, very nice metal feel there.

Izakku81:The kit was nicely build , Construction was good, there were no seamlines, scratching or chipping . The chrome was nice and vibrant. Nonetheless the red metallic boosters and parts from ako hobby added a lot to the detail of the kit. I would recommend painting some parts in non chrome matt colors, as a contrast to the chrome scheme, as it will enhance the over all look

------------------------------------

Zetan - joeker

Pazu: Very good idea. I can imagine that this idea would look fantastic if extended to a much bulkier mecha. Finishing is a bit bland.

G-net: interesting is all I can say! Major kitbashing that turned out pretty well I suppose. Very creative.

izakku81: This was a really interesing piece, I think the main selling point for the Zetan was the concept. Its very interesting to see how u matched the legs and feets as arms and etc. It turned out pretty well. I like the worn out effect you did to the weapon. But on the downside, the metal chain on the back was not good, it made it look like a broken gashapon keychain and effortless, You have to watch out for the slight glue marks left from mods too. Finishing was ok but could be improved, I like the kit alot, it was fun, nicely excecuted and generally good

---------------------------------

Zaku III Ver. Zero - kou_uraki87

Pazu: Nice clean build. Painting would benefit greatly if there is more shader because the color is too light.

G-net: panel lines inconsistent, some deep some shallow could be your picture angles. Would have put more color into your details to compensate for the monotone scheme. Seam line on the gun a little obvious.

izakku81: For this entry the finishing and painting is good. I also like the combination of modifications, eg. the plaplates and additional weapons . The overall decals are well positioned but I find that the Zeon word on the shoulder is a bit big, the space between the side shoulder pads and the 'Zeon' decals is touching edge to edge, i would recommend using a slightly smaller decal. Notwithstanding, i feel this is an excellent piece of work credible of second in my opinion.

-----------------------------

Custom Hyaku-Shiki Type Z - dhmy2kgto

Pazu: The gold looks off. It's neither bright nor pleasing to the eye. Use of decal is a bit poor. Some seams visible.

G-net: some panel lines look too deep and rough. Surface not smooth for a metallic finish,(ankle armor, head, chest) some washes are a bit "dirty"

izzaku81: Generally well done, construction was good no seam lines. Nice attempt in combining the zeta and hyakushiki. Edges could be sharper and you should take note of the scratch marks on the gloss parts as they become quite prominent after painting. The holes in the knees are odd, as the overall kit was clean. Mold circles could be seen in the shield. Good attempt nontheless

-------------------------------

Hazel Custom - jnthn

Pazu: Great presentation. Very simple but clean mods. Nice details that catches the eye. Fantastic effort.

G-net: very nice! Clean and very gundam feel! Has to be my favorite entry. Good use of aftermarket parts, not too 'over'. Good example of wat photos should look like.

izzaku81: I simply love this entry, the hazel is clean and sharp, the addition of the metal parts are very nice. I like the back skirtings a lot. I would feel that in terms of craftmanship and finishing this piece of work is very strong, the slight dip came mainly from the creativity portion. The poses and presentation was excellent

-------------------------------

MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam High Mobility Test Type - Red Comet

Pazu: A commendable effort at modding but the details are all lost in the final product. The paint scheme looks haphazardly applied. Interesting presentation

G-net: color is a bit dull or not contrasting enough. The orange or yellow could have been a little brighter. Don't know if it was intentional but edges seem too round or rounded off.

izakku81: I think there was not much problems with the construction, it was nicely done. I will not comment on the modifying part due to the time frame issues(i have notched the points to you marasai). I do find the yellow markings abit jarring, i would recommend a slight misting with the base color, as it will make it more subtle. Moreover, i find the multi colored beam saber abit too bright. Going forward the overall kit was ok, i feel the presentation with the planet base very cool

Project Z Ver.Ed - Gray Wolf - eday

Pazu: Can I give eday a million points and make him go away? Haha. Joking. Frankly, I don't know how to judge this. It's way too pro. Love all the tiny details. (People take note, this is how you POSE!)

Project Z Ver.Ed - Red Snake - eday

Pazu: I love the lourves design on this one. Incredible.

Project Z Ver.Ed - White Unicorn - eday

Pazu: Eh. Wow! Excellent stuff. I admire the fact that you can make exact duplicates so many times. I find it incredibly mentally challenging when I have to do such things.

G-net: cannot comment on this one, different class of its own. Should not be allowed to enter! Haha! But my favorite would be the red snake.

izakku81: Excellent work, very amazing craftmenship and construction for all 3 zeta. The finishing for all three zeta are flawless. Modifications are sharp and precised. Proportions are well balanced and colors are vibrant and beautiful . The amount of detail paid to the parts is simply jaw dropping.
