Sanding.. who loves sanding.... 
Anyway.. to make things easier to sand contours.. why not make your own curved sanding block
Here's what I did to sand the 4mm extension of the GM leg
Take a piece of eraser/rubber and cut to size.

Wrap with Sandpaper

I find that there is no need to use double sided tape to hold the sandpaper down because when you are sanding your 3 fingers are holding the top and the 2 sides.
Now.. to continue my sanding....
