Hmm... seems a bit quiet around here these days huh?? Anyways decided to build a Hyaku-Shiki since the rules have been amended, and will use some parts from my Zeta to HOPEFULLY enhance the kit.... Just suprised that nobody is building this fella.....Uhm

Talk about an old kit, this one was really a pain..... Beautiful seams, a bit of flash even, lack of details.... It was the perfect kit for customizing!!

The editor test fitted his kit with the Zeta's BFG....

The head is actually quite nicely done up, and even though there were seamlines, they are easily gotten rid off by Putty and Superglue. However the eyes and lens would have to be hadpainted, unlesss I can find some other way....

Shown here are two pictures of the seams found on the kit;s head already sealed up. The editor used a mix of both Tamiya putty and Superglue to make sure the lines NEVER appear again.

On to the backpack next. Looks really really plain, so I decided to add in the fin thingy from the Zeta kit onto the back... I know it's been done a million times by others but hey can't I even try it for once??Em56

The wings also got a little treatment. Used 0.3mm Plaplate, superglue, putty and Eproxy to make the enhancements. Also the lower wings were scribed with panelines to make it look nicer.....

The editor scribed lines with a needle in a pin vice

^ This is how the backpack looks like after the changes....

That's all for now!!

nice Shiki mod, don't forget a BLING BLING GOLD!! Lol
We now join dhmy2kgto once again to continue his W.I.P of his 1/144 Hyku-Shiki. This issue we take a look at arms.

Well, a bit has been done up since the last time.

- Recap, the last time round, head was sealed, failed to inform everyone that I eproxy puttied the hole where the antenna was suppose to go cause it looked weird.

- Then the backpack was also done up. Failed to mention that other than superglue, plaplate and putty was used, so was Kotobukiya spare parts and even an old piece of PE from a previous project was used...

Sorry for all the failure to mention things, haha.... Was rushing to submit the article in time, haha.....Blood0ni

Anyways, did up the arms. The shoulder was cemented together and also the seamline was sealed up with superglue. Additional panel lines were scribed on with the help of a needle.
(*Editor's note: I have a Hasegawa tritool scriber, but it just doesn't scribe lines as fine and sharp as a needle. Furthermore it requires sharpening... a bit of a turn off... Maybe it is just me, anyone else with this problem?)Em114

I also used Kotobukiya parts to simulate vents found on the side of the shoulders.
@StoneV and duke2sg - This was what I used it for since you guys were asking the other day. Hope this helpsWink-wink

^Kotobukiya mash was used to simulate vents

Next up the arms. I really wanted my Hyaku-Shiki to have a shield, so once again went through the now scarped Zeta kit and dug out its shield. The next problem was how I'm gonna attach the shield to the arm...Blood0ni the only way I though off was to insert a polycap inside... So removed the red part Bandai gave and did some reworking... That means the whole red part would have to be removed... so I used plaplate cover up the place where the red part previously was. Cemented and sealed up the arm with superglue again. Left the other arm as it is, only change was to remove the piston from the red part. Also used some plapate to enhance the look of the arms.

^Red part for the left arm is replaced with Plaplate
[Image: DSCN1107.jpg]
^The Shield is now able to fit onto the arm of Hyaku-Shiki
[Image: DSCN1109.jpg]
^One more look at the kit now with the shield up.Wink-wink

Phew, that's all for now, hope everyone knows what the heck I'm talking about... Sorry for the lack of pictures as I tend to get too engrossed and forget to take pictures.....Em56
